Become a Foster Home

Open your heart and home—become a foster parent for an animal in need.

As a foster parent, you provide a temporary, loving home for an animal while helping them prepare for their forever family. Foster care is a critical part of our rescue mission, and we are deeply grateful to those who open their homes and hearts to animals in need.

Here’s what fostering with EAPL looks like

Basic Care & Support

Help the pet adjust, provide daily care, and work on training if needed.

Patience & Love

Many pets come from shelters and need time, understanding, and kindness.

Medical Covered

EAPL pays for all vet care and provides food.

You’re never alone—we’ll support you every step of the way.

If you’re interested in fostering dogs, we’ll do our best to match you with your preferences—whether that’s by size, breed, age, or temperament. For example, if you prefer puppies, let us know if you’re more comfortable with large or small breeds.

How long will you have the animal?

There’s no guaranteed timeframe, but our goal is always to find a forever home as quickly as possible. We actively promote adoptable pets through Petfinder, over 50 national adoption websites, social media pages, community bulletin boards, and frequent adoption events (weather permitting, we try to host two or more per month).

Once you submit your Foster Application, EAPL will conduct an interview and home visit before placing you with an animal. For additional details, please click on the links above.
