Cat Room Volunteers

Our EAPL Cat Room at the Chow Down in Bergen Park is a special, temporary home for cats awaiting their forever families, and it runs entirely on volunteer power. We need dedicated volunteers every single day of the year to ensure the cats receive the best care.  The EAPL Cat Adoption Center at Chow Down is licensed by the State of Colorado’s PACFA program as a Cat Shelter and must meet the PACFA requirements in caring for our adult cats.  EAPL is happy to train folks who want to volunteer in the cat room.

Daily responsibilities include providing fresh food and water, ensuring the communal cat room and each kennel is clean and comfortable, and scooping litter boxes. Just as important is spending quality time with the cats—offering gentle affection, playtime, and socialization. This interaction keeps them happy, healthy, and ready to meet their future adopters.

Whether you can spare a few hours each week or can commit to one or two shifts a month, your help is invaluable. It’s a fun, rewarding way to fill your time with purrs and headbutts while making a direct impact on a cat’s life.
