Animal Intake Guidelines
Evergreen Animal Protective League (EAPL) is an all-breed dog and cat rescue. We do not have the licensing or facilities to intake farm animals, small pets, or wildlife. Please review the following information to ensure you contact the appropriate organizations for assistance.
Farm Animals
EAPL is unable to accept or rehome farm animals. For help with animals such as goats, pigs, horses, chickens, and other livestock, please reach out to rescues that specialize in farm animals. Some local Humane Societies may also accept certain farm animals—please contact them directly to confirm. Please conduct an online search for the most current farm animal rescue resources.
Small Companion Animals
EAPL does not intake small pets such as:
- Mice or rats
- Hamsters or gerbils
- Guinea pigs
- Hedgehogs
- Rabbits
- Snakes, turtles, or other reptiles
Please contact your local Humane Society to ask if they accept these animals for surrender or rehoming.
EAPL can provide a courtesy listing for these pets. This means we will list the animal on our courtesy adoption page with your contact information so that interested adopters can reach out to you directly.
Wildlife
EAPL does not handle wildlife calls, including but not limited to:
- Deer, elk, or moose
- Bear or mountain lion
- Raccoons, skunks, or foxes
- Wild birds and other native species
For wildlife concerns, please contact your local Animal Control or your nearest wildlife authority. They can direct you to the appropriate licensed wildlife rehabilitation center.
